Hi, I’m Jonathan.
In 1993 I made the Bay Area home. Before that I was born, raised and schooled in Virginia.
I have been part of building the Old Navy brand for the past ten years. I’ve also done some work with Gap and Levis. I ran the art department at Bill Graham Presents. I was half of Idea Route — a design partnership. I freelanced for numerous agencies over the years — in advertising and consumer packaging.
I enjoy solving complex design challenges, helping a brand evolve or creating something entirely new. Being part of strategic development with executive leaders has built my experience, informing how I approach projects. The mix of marketing opportunities and ways to engage customers grows, constantly changing. Branding and physical spaces continue to be super important, but even those are rapidly evolving. As brands strive to be omni — collaboration has never been more essential.
I love to lead conceptual, editorial and design talent. I know the value of highly engaged teams. I also like to jump in and help with the work.
When not at the computer I'm playing with my kids, digging in the garden, coaching youth soccer, or traveling somewhere with friends & family.
